You start with a sand pit, an excavator and two trucks. The excavator fills the pit’s own heap, a truck hauls the material to the yard, and machines process it: logs into planks and beams, clay into bricks, rock into crushed stone and cement, and those into concrete. You sell the surplus, and that pays for the next machine.
The picture shows the real production. A machine that has stopped makes no dust, the pipes turn grey when the reservoir runs dry, and the heaps grow with your stock. Machines heat up and ask for cooling water, and overheating wears them out, so they need repairs now and then. The card at the top right tells you what is holding up the construction: hauling, a material or research.
After three workshops comes the gorge. The bridge has four spans, goes up with a tower crane and needs rebar, which you buy at the trade depot. On the far side, houses, apartment blocks and three high-rises grow floor by floor, and finished buildings pay rent. Measured with automatic players, a full playthrough takes 6.5–10 hours; no human has finished it yet, and it will probably take longer.
